The Mass Timber | Circular Design Center (MT|CdC) is a regenerative prototype bridging Coastal Salish architectural intelligence with net-positive mass timber construction. The facility uses a passive-first framework. Net-positive energy status is achieved via rooftop PVs and geothermal loops. The mass timber structure acts as a carbon sink, ensuring a non-toxic, regenerative contribution to the ecosystem.

The MT|CdC serves as a social catalyst in Prospect Point park, combining R&D labs with public spaces like a cafe, performance pavilion, and urban farm. These elements link to existing hiking paths, providing accessible space that prioritizes community wellbeing.

Honoring the spiritual significance of cardinal directions, the MT|CdC aligns with solstice events, opening east to trail networks and the sunrise. A circular courtyard maximizes southern exposure, while the cafe and outdoor seating are positioned north for abundant daylight. The western entry and auditorium celebrate the sunset with harbor views, integrating the solar cycle into communal life.
